It's the 21st century, artificial intelligence is getting far too intelligent for its own good, and the Singularity is looming. Our humble robot servants are poised to assimilate our information, our jobs and eventually the world. The only sensible thing to do in a situation like that is to ask the robots to join your band...
Gig Tron Robo Disco is improvised music powered by batteries, beatbox, disco, dub, live loops and the ghosts of early 80s kids' TV.  Organic and synthesised sounds collide with half-remembered hooks to form a kitschy, glitchy chaos, with which the audience are invited to interact and add their own sounds. One human songwriter grapples with her various digital divas to mastermind the wobbly, wonky mix...
Gig Tron has amazed and amused kids and grown ups, midnight ravers, city slickers, bandstands, bars and bridges at Nozstock, Green Gathering, Beautiful Days, Bearded Theory, LFest, Tribal Hearts Festival, Boomtown and many more!
We are a fully mobile, battery powered 50W mini sound system with flashing lights and optional robot skeleton dancers.
Operated by a minimum of two people. Access to mains electricity somewhere to recharge batteries preferred helpful though not essential. We have public liability insurance, rain (but not monsoon) contingency and can do up to 3 or 4 sets per day / night. We need level ground not too near a noisy stage. and access to a lockup if parking is far away.
Clockwise from top left: Boomtown, live promo video, Green Gathering, Tribal Hearts, LFest.
